Making a unique product can be a key factor in differentiating you from the competition – especially in a competitive market.

One company, Classic Stellar Homes, Inc. has taken this concept to a whole new level.

“Our homes have R40 ceilings, R27 wall systems, insulated foundations, low-E windows with thermal breaks, insulated blinds, Honeywell zoning systems, Honeywell energy recovery ventilators (ERVs) and Honeywell programmable thermostats – and that’s not even including the envelope,” said Tom Dannenbaum, president and director of sales and marketing of Classic Stellar.

Ken Dannenbaum, Tom Dannenbaum and Steve Hedden operate Classic Stellar. The trio introduced the idea of “super-insulated homes” – home designs usually reserved for the coldest climates – to the Phoenix area more than 10 years ago. They’ve been running strong with the concept ever since.

Along with energy efficiency, Classic Stellar places a priority on air quality products and comfort control. They chose a company with unique products as an exclusive partner to outfit their homes: Honeywell.

“We’ve been working with Honeywell ever since we got started. There’s no such thing as too tight of a home if you have the right ventilation, efficiency and comfort products. Honeywell meets this need for us with flying colors,” said Tom Dannenbaum.

In addition to dependable products, Dannenbaum lists technical support, sales support and brand recognition as reasons they partner with Honeywell.

“It’s a win-win. With Honeywell, you have the right products, you have the right customers that know and trust Honeywell, and you have support from the manufacturer,” he said.

“Even though our climate is extreme, we guarantee our homes. For instance, we specify that a 4,500 square-foot house will not exceed $1,500 per year in cooling and heating costs. We use Honeywell products to help meet that promise.”
